About
Jodi Paris is your neighborhood Real Estate Specialist. She has been involved in the real estate business her entire life. Her grandfather and father are real estate developers who founded Paris Industrial Parks, a commercial real estate development company. Jodi’s childhood memories are filled with watching real estate projects go from the drawing board to becoming real buildings leased or sold to major companies like ABC, Lamps Plus, FedEx, UPS, Los Angeles Times and many more.
One of Jodi’s favorite memories as a child is the time when she got to go on top of the roof of a brand new building and inspect the larger-than-life air conditioning units. Jodi earned her real estate license in 1992. She worked for Jon Douglas, in Beverly Hills. Today, Jodi is a Real Estate Broker with her own brokerage company, OCMAX, Inc.
Jodi earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Colorado Boulder and has a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Philips Graduate Institute. Interpersonal communication has been her focus of education and work for many years. She enjoys listening to others and helping people find the answers they are looking for, if it is in their professional or personal world.
When working as a real estate broker, Jodi always focuses on her clients’ needs. You can’t say enough about the importance of understanding the seller’s financial needs before coming up with a selling strategy that will get her clients exactly what they want and need. When working with a buyer, Jodi’s main focus is to find her client a house they can afford in the neighborhood that they love.
When Jodi represents either a seller or a buyer in a real estate transaction after an offer has been accepted, she focuses on keeping her client informed and simplifies the process as much as possible. There are a lot of signatures to collect in a real estate transaction, and Jodi stays engaged with her client throughout the process of closing the transaction.
For fun, Jodi loves to travel. She has been fortunate to travel all over the world and has learned a great deal about the people, cultures and history of many places. Jodi is an Alumni of Semester at Sea where she traveled for one hundred days around the world while studying aboard a cruise ship. She traveled first to Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China, then on to the Indian Ocean where she visited Sir Lanka, and India. Next, she cruised through the Suez Canal visiting Egypt and Israel, from there she went to Greece and see Spain before returning to the United States.
Semester at sea was one of Jodi’s greatest experiences, and since then she has been lucky to travel to Europe multiple times, and sail on many cruises ships. One of the benefits of Jodi’s world travel and exposure to so many cultures is her ability to connect with people and communicate with them. Jodi can do all that while understanding what her clients believe in, what they want, and what is an acceptable way of getting it done for them.
Jodi’s passion in life is family. She is a devoted wife and mother, and she likes to spend time and take care of her husband, her 13-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl. While many would see the start of a perfect day as one in which breakfast is served in bed, Jodi sees it as her making a homemade breakfast for her family before going on to show houses to her clients.
